Oh yes, definitely the winner!
We don't get to see them in dresses much, but I really like the 'space opera' look this conveys.
I love b/w line art, and this would be spoiled if it was in colour.
The artist reminds me of the wonderful Autumn Sacura, too.

mmm-hmmm.
Huh... I guess that's true... I never thought about it from that angle, thanks.
Really? Well it's not like I've made any movements to have this one coloured... I guess it does have it's own charming retro feel.
I'm afraid I don't know of them...

The 'look' makes me think of the 'planetary romance' or 'space opera' style - think Frank Herbert, Anne McCaffery, Marion Zimmer Bradley, etc.
Autumn Sacura is a female artist who specialises in very tender, same-sex romance artwork. Mostly of computer game characters, all in this very elaborate, Regency style. Well worth a look.

MMm, I lament that I'm not familiar with those names...
Ohhhh, so does she have her own site or a page on DA?

They're before my time, let alone your time! But they are classic writers in the 'space opera/planetary romance' genre. Think of them as the precursers to Star Wars.
Yep, Autumn Sacura posts here on DA. Go check her out. Dunno if she does commissions, but she's a beautiful artist. This picture of your heroines at the ball is similar to her work.
