Description
The road to a first career win in the life of a wrestler to some is a short reachable distance. While to others like that of Scovia ‘Sardine’ Sylanova, the journey in getting that luxurious first win is instead like a marathon away. Factors like her small stature, her limited style of combat, and her overall lack of experience within the square circle make that goal even harder to achieve. But the one thing that every fan and analyst says and agrees about Sardine, the biggest weapon in her arsenal is her heart. No matter how much abuse and physically beaten down Sardine might be in a match, she will keep fighting no matter what. With that said, Scovia would be booked against a fairly evenly-matched opponent in that Vesta Lambros for her next match. Vesta also codenamed Hestia, just like Sardine has yet to get her first win within the black and blue league! So with that said, you know that both Sardine and Vesta will bring their A-games coming into this match- and aw boy they did.

Back-and-forth this match went, neither competitor wanting to throw away the opportunity to elevate their career, both gave their all! Sardine would hit high-risk move after high-risk move just to try and put down Vesta! But after each pin attempt, Hestia’s flame refused to go out as Vesta kicked out each time at 2.5! Although Sardine had twice as much offense in this match as her opponent, Vesta was somehow doing better than Scovia. As we mentioned before, Sardine just doesn’t have the physical strength compared to her peers therefore she needs to execute more attacks on her foes to keep up! Therefore translating that same logic to this match, Sardine might’ve landed the most blows, but it was clear that Vesta’s attacks had the better impact.

So with the damage from the bout finally syncing in at this point, out of the two, Sardine appeared to be the most gassed. So when Vesta managed to catch Scovia from a high-flying move and then Powerbombed her into the mat, this nearly KO’ed the smaller Scottish here and there. But seeing that this was the best opportunity to capture the win, Vesta decided now was the time to debut her finisher! Interlocking Sardine’s legs with her own, Hestia would then turn Scovia onto her belly before really sinking in her Sharpshooter finisher that she calls the Torch-Her! Sardine would cry out as this move was initially locked in, but the small Scottish refused to give up! Seeing that she was a few crawls away from the ropes, this motivated Scovia to not give in just yet. Digging her nails into the ring mat, Sardine very slowly at a snail’s pace dragged both herself and Vesta on top of her closer to the ring ropes!

Fans cheered Sardine to not give in and break the submission hold by grabbing the bottom ring rope! But Vesta knowing what she had to do, implored Sardine to tap out here and now or she would have no choice but to make this hold way worse. Choosing to ignore Vesta’s warning, Scovia chose to push on in her crawl. With a heavy sigh and knowing she might get flack for this, Hestia tighten her grasp on Sardine’s leg and sat up momentarily before snapping back in making the Sharpshooter significantly deeper! This stopped Sardine’s momentum in getting to the ropes as she was pretty much anchored in place. Scovia desperately tried reaching out to the closest set of ring ropes, but to her horror, they were just out of reach. With tears in her eyes, Sardine knew she had no choice but to slowly tap the mat and admit that she gives up.

With that tapout, this marks another loss in Sardine’s record and the first win for Vesta’s! Will the little Scottish ever get her first win before 2025? Or is Sardine doomed to have a losing streak like Cha’Risa’s? All we can say is stay tuned and keep them eyes peeled for the next Sardine matchup!
