All living dragonellas are mere dwarves in comparison to their ancient ancestors. The giant dragonella of the Caucasus Mountains had a wingspan of 10 meters. It survived in isolated mountain pockets until it was hunted to extinction during the Middle Ages. This species was the source of many ancient myths including that of the Hydra in the Argosy. it was the reason that the people of the Republic of Georgia named their country after St. George of dragon slaying infamy.
