still they could make it like a tragic ending story for her, were she kill Palpatine to save everyone in that moment after she took all the darkness and became Empress Palpatine, she orders her new troops to leave everyone to leave, Ben survives because of her not letting other sith to kill him, she says to him that to not expect this kindness ever again and next time they will meet she will kill everyone. 
Basically Rey makes a sacrifice in that moment to something everyone but she loses herself, becoming something evil with no heart, Sith Empress.

This way could leave out possible stories in comics for her or future movies...but nope...they ruined her with a boring happy ending

That would have been very interesting. But since it’s a closing chapter for StarWars that would have set it up for future works. The actress who plays Rey said she won’t be returning to the role in future productions.
Although maybe something animated could be made involving her. Not sue guess we’ll have to wait and see.
