I've got not a lot to say here. But to be very honest... This design is just junk! >o<;
But it looks like we have until November before this movie airs. Do you guys believe we still have time to stop this cash-in atrocity? Are we REALLY gonna allow Sonic to be humiliated like this? Us, the fans, who loved Sonic growing up? Especially when they're making him a flippin juvenile delinquent?! >~<; ARE WE?!!! ;w;
I'd rather watch Sonic X as a whole three times, and pick Sonic Boom over this, even the trash games Rise of Lyric and 06! >~< I'd rather we all stay the CRUD AWAY from this movie, and we stop these kinds of live action remakes from happening anymore! Cuz no matter what they're NEVER gonna be better than the original in all the right ways.

....Are we seriously condemning an ENTIRE MOVIE because the Movie Sonic's bloody SILHOUETTE doesn't look like the current model?!
GUYS.
How about waiting until we see the whole model or, better yet, an actual trailer before claiming that sega's "Dragging our childhood through the dirt again.", hmm?
It's like Boom's character reveal all over again...and the werehog's reveal...and fucking green eye'd sonic's reveal...The Character design is only PART of what makes a project!

Hey, just cause Sonic has a different design in this upcoming film doesn't mean it's gonna affect how good the movie is. In fact, i don't think we should judge how good or bad it's probably gonna be until the trailer is released. Honestly, when it comes to how good a film is, it's not about the design or what they do to the classic characters, it's about the plot, and how well it's written, as well as how well the characters are written, whether they maintain how they were in the classics, or if they decide to add a few changes to their design and/or personality. I think before you decide that the movie's gonna suck just based on a poster, you should wait until the trailer comes out and decide then and there whether or not you'd want to see it. Hey, it might be better than any of us are expecting it to be. You never know.
Also, just a little side note about Sonic being a juvenile delinquent in the film apparently....^^ I personally think that's somewhat fitting for him in a way, when you consider his spunky personality. Whatever the writers intend on doing with Sonic with that trait, it could work out pretty well. Like i said, you never know.

This design to me screams "THIS WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE LIVE-ACTION!" because I just look at this, I read the comments by the producers and I see exactly what went wrong here. Sonic the Hedgehog is a bipedal cartoon animal who runs super fast, that's what he's made to be, that's what was always intended and to see them spout off nonsense about how they kept aiming for this to be "realistic" to me misses the point about the character.
Also it should be noted that by his very nature, Sonic is NOT realistic. To me, this is the equivalent of back when superhero movies used to have every suit be either leather or just the equivalent of a t-shirt and just like those occasions, it should be emphasized that this is why you don't do that. Sonic is weird in terms of his design... but it's his iconic look. He's supposed to have the regular shoes, his spines and the monoeye, that's what people know Sonic as having and with this design? Now he's this freakish, realistic mutant that looks hideous.

Some of the outrage I will say is overblown but for the most part, I think buried beneath the needless rage and claims of ruined childhoods are people who expertly point out what's wrong with this as a whole.

Indeed, now to be fair if the trailer does come out and show in spite of the design that this possibly will be decent? I will eat my words but until then, man does every bad decision made with the plot really seem so much worse now that we know this weird blue rat is our Sonic.

Well that makes a lot of sense in some respects, Sonic was always known as being a guy with an attitude so that I could gel with but as for everything else? It feels like they're making the equivalent of the Smurfs movie (Which is hilarious considering that this originally was supposed to be a Sony production.). Hell I wouldn't even put it past them to have Sonic be a background character in his own movie so that this sheriff guy gets the focus. I don't know really what to say anymore to this movie, every bit of my optimism has been whittled away with everything I hear about it and this is nearly the tipping point.
Basically if the actual trailer doesn't show me anything of value? Sufficed to say my care levels for this will drop down to 0.
