This is the first time I've seen skull pauldrons and actually liked them in a picture. I just love the drama of the pose and the atmosphere that the other two cloaked figures add to the piece.

reminds of Gats from Berserk mixed with Legato from Trigun and throw in a little Hunter D outfitting.....sooo a really big strong guy with a sword that has telepathic powers. mhm. the way everyone should be.
anyway. yea i love this one and the history channel rules one...because im a sucker for medieval things...oh and the predator one cause hes my favorite character. first movie i ever saw
those little flying pboats are a nice touch. pirates abound. P-|

This character is not of any specific character, so, it's kind of original in a sense. I'm hesitant to call it original because there are a lot of common elements on this figure, which makes this one more of a generic character.

what's the story on the location? the background looks pretty cool. not to say the cloaked man isn't, i think it's awesome. i like the armguard pattern a lot, and the positioning of his hands is really good too. nice job on how the light falls on top of the cloak. so...whats the story on the background?

How about that the place is the less than savory part of town where pirates and thugs are abound due to the economic nature of a port city, indicated by those strange floating boats in the back.
This stray character just realized that the allyway he has wondered into is not the most hospitable of places.
He draws his sword over the strange feeling that he's being watched.
He never left that dingy ally.

Absolutely stunning! I love the sense of the foggyness in the air, it also achieves a wonderful depth of field.. After looking at it for a while I noticed the two hooded people in the back, I LOVE it when people throw it tiny details in there like that.. ^_^ Wonderful piece, my friend.

Dayum! It's a piece like this that makes me wish I had my laptop up and working again. (It's a bit too dark on this computer.)
All the same, I'm just drinking this in. I love it. The shoulder guards drew my attention right away. The background is great, too- the other robed figures and the buildings, the ... what seem to be ships in the sky.

I love this, this has beautiful tones and the lighting work is great, especially on the upper armor and on the highlighting on the lower plating and the expression on his face is awesome and most of all you've done well to create an atomosphere using the background that is far from the usual generic work that often happens with such a strong foreground focus. This would make a great illustration piece.
