Holy crap! I have this one! When I was a kid I barely ever read any of the comics I got. I selected them solely based on how cool I thought they looked. I think my friend owned this and I traded him something for it... what a sucker.

I had a lot of fun on that job! At least for most of it until deadline craziness hit!

Cheers Bill! Fun indeed! Though I have to admit, I really didn't like The Mace's costume... He never really caught on did he?
Best,
L.

Yes it was kind of 'different'. No I think that was the last of Mace.
Although I look back on it fondly that job was texture crazy! Still wish there was a trade.
Also it was during that job that Jack Kirby passed away. I put some graffiti on one of the p.1 splash pages reflecting that.

iΒ΄ll be damned, never knew you had your "sharp" hihi,...art in this one too.
now ,what i love about 90s its the continuity of the dynamics of Neal Adams or J. Kirby, visually speaking, not so much defined by the cinematic rules of pace and composition like today.still, change its good, thats the only constant in life, isnΒ΄t it?
best regards,Liam!

Damn, i love these 90's comics. This Venom saga and your Hulk books are the best 90's books visually.

I have this but I never read it. So I had no idea you drew this. Just threw it in a box.
I'll have to remedy that.

It's not just Venom. It is the cover of a comic that came from my favorite era. The era in which I grew up in and looked up to stuff such as this! and I am able to communicate with someone who contributed to the eye candy of my childhood. So it's all of it ha-ha.

could you explain "finishes"? how big were the layouts?
π: 0 β©: 1
LiamRSharp In reply to h41i70515 [2010-05-18 08:13:37 +0000 UTC]
Finishes are when the inker does more than just ink the pencils, he adds a ton of detail to very loose layout pencils, not full detailed pencils. It's a more 50/50 split creatively. That help?
Best,
L.
