Description "Today is a holiday in the country:
They burn the witch again,
Lying near the hamlets of
These people flock.
Month of autumn - are freezing the face
Want so much to drink!
And in this slushy day
It will warm us with their fire..."(c)

I see.
Burning someone alive ... witch or not, beautiful or not, what an atrocious way to day.

Is it too late for me to show up, then?

Fires of the Inquisition claimed so many innocent souls...
It is a heavy topic.
Yes, a little late, heh

This is so sad.  Why does not her boyfriend come to her rescue?

Maybe because she's single.

Very intense and emotional artwork. I especially like the coloring, the bright contrast between the flames and the dark sky/smoke and the bright circle putting her in some kind of spotlight. Also the fightend expression fits very well to the theme, as well as the religious symbolism with a cross instead of a stake (would maybe even better if her arms would be tied to horrizontal beam of the cross instead just behind it)

Poor witch ... i suppose there won't be a knight coming to the rescue?

Oh, thank you very much! I am very glad that you enjoyed this work. I put her in a part of my soul.
Burning at the stake of the beautiful, innocent girls but could not leave me indifferent.
The girl on my picture is not what would be a witch, she's just free from prejudice and religion. She treated people with herbs. She danced around the fire, and cried, and laughed without restraint. And for that denounced her ... and burned at the stake of the Holy Inquisition.
PS: i'm sorry for my bad English Q-Q

Yes, that theme affects most watches on a very emotional way ... i have also tried to make some works in this direction, may it be as artwork [though nowere as professional as yours] or as short story ...

Yep, there are no witches, they all were innocent. May it be just peasants wrongfully accused, or those with other believes or knowledge ...

Your english is ok, i am also no nativ english speaker
