Description
Lots of stuff added - more armour, missile tubes, aerials, greebles, details and more armour. I reshaped the mid section armour on the pods and the main hull to give a better angle, too. I've made some headway with the internal layout as well, which will hopefully expand into a full cross-section at some point.Lots yet to do, of course...but it is over 2km long!
Blake's 7 is not mine.

Normally I'm not a fan of massive reworkings of designs from older sci-Fi stuff, cause the intent gets lost, or it become something completely different, which then maks you say, "why did they bother"... But this works really well. It has the same basic design as the classic Liberator, but loses that 50s rocket vibe he original had, AND most importantly, fels genuinely alien. I never felt that I was looking at an alien ship with the original ship when I watched Blake's 7. Very nice!

I definitely wanted to make it seem alien - if you've seen my reworking of the Federation Pursuit Ship, you'll see that that's very much a traditional rocketship, whereas I gave the Liberator much harsher, angular lines. It's not quite so much a mechanical space Elder God as, say, the Narada, but I wanted a vaguely similar vibe - something that would be distinct from the Federation tech at a glance.
As much as I love the original design, it just didn't stand out against the Federation ships enough.

Agreed. I haven't seen the show in a looong time, though, so I really only remember the Liberator herself. Need to rewatch it. And I see you're a whovian! Very cool. I do 3d fanart myself, DW Star Trek, Godzilla, ect.

I do like the way the power globe , remains green.
