Well now. It's been a while. Sorry about that, but I've been focusing on perfecting a couple of things and haven't really had anything ready for rendering. I've got a wallpaper on my list of things to get done this week, so I'll get that up too, but until I get some new models finished, I'm probably still in silent mode.The above is still a Work In Progress but I think there's enough there to be worth posting. As you can see, the Liberator is coming along a treat, though there is a lot of detail to add yet. The smaller WIP is, of course, a Federation Pursuit Ship, just to show the scale...
Blake's 7 was created by Terry Nation. The original design for the Liberator was by Roger Murray-Leach. This design is by me.

This is a great design, well done.
I think you are perfectly right to make the Federation ship much smaller; that scene in Duel simply wasn't consistent with what had been said previously about the Liberator's size. It was supposed to be much bigger and more powerful than anything the Federation had.

Indeed so - I really wanted to drive home how far beyond the Federation's technology this ship is.

Werent the Fed pursuit ships the same size as the Liberator?

Pursuit ships were about half the length, with a hull diameter about the same as the Liberator's forward nosecone (the only time you see this properly is when a Pursuit Ship nearly collides with the Liberator in 'Duel'.
Given that I'm scaling the Liberator as just under 2.3km long, I decided not to keep that 1:2 ratio and made the FPS a more conservative ~200m. I figure while the System has the technology for massive deep space battleships, the Federation doesn't have the resources or need for such big ships outside of the occasional colony vessels.
