Description The first time Lisa Trevor and Samara Morgan lay eyes on each other there was silence. It was the first time both had met something similar than themselves, yet so different.

It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

I so love both of them, you know in a way that I wanna give them a hug.

And after that, run away, fast.

They really are very similar, aren't they? Both not really bad, but gone through horrible things.
I really like the idea.

One could argue that Samara was evil, (or maybe she just didn't have anyone who could properly take care of her and not be affected by her powers) but she just looks so cute, the Ring wasn't that scary to me, at least on the second time I saw it, and onwards.

On a sidenote, the original japanese one scares me, all because of that towel-headed man. It's a man! With a towel on his head! And he points at things! I saw nightmares about that guy.

Yeah, the japanese version is way more scary than the american one. But I always find japanese horror movies more scarier, they just get the mood and everything right

It's often interesting to compare remakes and how they differ.
In the case of Ring/Ringu I can't really say which one is better, since I like them for different reasons. Actually, I was thinking of writing a comparative analysis of them.

The American remake is better from a purely technical perspective, because it was made several years later and I guess the budget was bigger, but I felt it didn't go overboard with the special effects. I think it's a good example of using special effects properly in a horror movie.

Nice work! Now that I see this, they really seem to be made for each other... best friends forever!

Thanks.

And yes, they are both in a dire need of a friend. Someone to talk to, someone to share your childhood crushes and other secrets with. Someone who understands you and whom you can go stalking and killing people with.
