I laughed when he said that T-Veronica was stupid. Someone is still jealous. Plus, even though both Birkin and Alexia turned into horrible viral monsters and died, Alexia still retained her intelligence throughout the while thing while Birkin became a mindless monster eventually. It looks like Alexia wins.
I also liked how Birkin really believes a virus must be involved somehow with Las Plagas.

I don't think there's enough of the actual virus in the sample to give it the colour.
It's mostly the solution used to store the virus.
So you can't really tell anything by the colour of the sample.
Although it seems Umbrella likes to colour-code their viruses.
