It's time for the old to be replaced by the new.I'm still taking a break from Internet and such, but considering how many there are who have looked forwards to this I decided to upload it now anyway.
Hopefully, some of you recognise the one to the left by now, since that is Zhenia - my old computer's human form - and who is the one to the right then?
Well, quite obviously it's Kazimir, my new computer and the one I am currently using.
He looks kinda like a wannabe rocker or something, yes, since Zhenia is pretty wannabe cool
Or... I guess both are pretty wannabe cool, and that suits them.At first, I had considered updating Zhenia's design because he looks more like a character than a computer, but I decided not to in the end, since he's put on the shelf anyway. I did, on the other hand, put some more effort behind designing Kazimir, even if I'm probably the only one who can tell
He's smaller than Zhenia, yes, and much shinier and stylish.
I like him ^_^
The background, on the other hand, looks somewhat like the Animus 2.0 (save the numbers and all) which wasn't really intended, but when I wanted something endless, sparkly and pretty that's what my brain went for I guess
So.
This was the picture I decided to draw to introduce my new computer, yes, as well as bid a very dear farewell to my old one.
Which is also why Zhenia was drawn on Zhenia - the very last thing I did on that computer actually, before putting it away - and Kazimir (as well as the background) was done on Kazimir.
It felt like a nice idea at the time, and I still think that it was.
Anyhowsies.

It's almost funny how many there are who have been interested in seeing him, since... well... it's my computer x'D What kind of attention does a computer normally get?
Ah well.
I guess he's just an attention whore.

Oh great. I just clicked this one among the thumbnails, because it looked shiny and unusual and it caught my attention. Then the meaning hit me the moment I saw it in normal size and read the name for it. I nearly started to cry - and my eyes are still stinging.
Once again you convinced me that the simplest of gestures can be the most powerful. I couldn't think of anything better than that casual greeting of these two - it's as if they met only that one moment in time, yet it seems to me Zhenia leaves you to Kazimir's care with full trust. And somehow, him leaving like this, seemingly okay or at least resigned about it, has greater impact on me than any more dramatic depiction you could draw.
For me, this picture is complex in its (relative) simplicity, full of meanings that far exceed the one situation you depict.
Which means a wonderful piece of art of course, and a fav.

I was actually aiming for that simple yet very, very effective way to portray what actually happened, because... well... it was dramatic for me, but rather simple in real life
So I settled for this, because the pose was both promising, expressive and sad... in a perfect mix
Zhenia WAS a bit reluctant, I'd say, but I still use him from time to time... I dragged him out the other day when I needed an extra computer and was left sitting with him the rest of the night, just because his keyboard is so comfortable x'D
So he's definitely not giving up the struggle for my attention, even if he accepts being the less used computer at the moment

But yeah, it's very handy. The reason I used him was because a friend was here to study and needed a computer, so she got to take Kazimir - who's less of a bitch about who gets to use him x'D - and I took Zhenia.
I can live with that

He is over five years old and a laptop
He still works though, surprisingly well, but he's a bit slow, I can't update certain things and... yeah. Technology is moving too fast and I couldn't really get any of the new programmes because he was too old
So I chose to buy a new one...
But he's actually standing right beside me at the moment, since I've been playing some of my older games
So I'm never going to let him be forgotten, be sure of that

I like the Matrixy-ness.
They both look cool in their own way.

I actually like Kazimir's design more than Zhenia's. Kazimir looks like the sort of person with whom you could have a conversation without him striking a pose for the camera
