Description How can I go on
If you don't come along to set me up
I don't know nothing
How can I move on when I am half as strong
Without your strength
I don't know nothing

Though you're not in my world to ease my worries
And you can't be the one I turn to
You're gonna watch over me, I feel you
Cuz your memory lives on, inside of me

You must be out there
Though you're not in my world to ease my worries
You must be out there
And you can't be the one I turn to
You must be out there
You're gonna watch over me, I feel you
You must be out there
Cuz your memory lives on, inside of me

You must be out there...

Out There - DJ Encore

.~*...*~.

I've wanted to draw a picture with this song as inspiration for a long while now. Ever since I heard it the first time, I knew that I would, someday, draw these two...
The problem was just that I couldn't figure out how. I had no idea how I was supposed to show the emotions behind it... until today, so when I finally realised how I wanted it, I threw all rules about not starting on new pictures aside and did this.
Because it's very, very important to me.

The redhead is ~Himyaviewen 's exorcist Morgan, and the guy further in the back is my exorcist Thorn.
These two met when Morgan was just a little tiny recruit at the exorcist base, in desperate need of guidance not to get himself killed, and Thorn the older, experienced big brotherly exorcist whom everybody loved due to his habit of taking care of anyone who needed his support.
Morgan and Thorn quickly became extremely close - brother close - and with Thorn's loving pushes and teasing remarks Morgan grew into an exceptionally good exorcist.

Then... one night, it happened. Everybody expects it, because no exorcist lives very long having to fight against vampires, werewolves and demons, but there was not a single person on the exorcist base that had counted on Thorn being the next one to die.
Within a heartbeat, the loving big brother was gone, and Morgan was left alone. No more hot chocolate, no more secure warmth and no more brotherly bickering.
Pretty much everyone mourned the loss, but no one took it harder than Morgan, for obvious reasons. During his last minutes, Thorn had handed over his great grandfather's cross (the one Morgan is fiddling with, yes) and that was one of the few things he left behind, except memories...
Morgan promised to never take it off...

For obvious reasons I thought of their relationship when hearing the song (and it is embarrassing to even try to count the number of times I started crying when drawing this) and especially since I know that Thorn's only regret when dying was that he wouldn't be able to see Morgan grow further, and tell him exactly how proud he would be over the advancements he knew that Morgan would make...
But... I have a feeling that he does see him grow. I have a feeling that he will always look after him. I have a feeling that he will always be there, no matter what.

He just is out there.
And I know that Morgan will make him very proud.

The bw-ish composition of most of the picture really puts focus on what's "important" in a really nice way
Lovely

That is so good. I love the efect you used, coloring only the important people. It have great atmosphere and transits the feelings very well. Good work

That was probably the only way to make them both show to tell the truth, but I did it mostly for the effect

Thank you!
I'm glad that you like it

It was very good idea and I find it much more poetic than the song.

Always my pleasure

Very true, yes... but one has to make sure to listen to the good version of the song Meaning the calmer one

AW!!! I just stumbled upon this and that is such a sad story! Losing someone you love is never easy, and I'm sure(just like you said)he'll always be watched over by his caring 'big brother'.

Beautiful picture the emotions are perfect! Amazing job! (also how has no one commented on this? Are they all crazy? Oh wait it's just because I'm the first to see this, 0 views total and all!)
I wish you many more views and comments; your amazing!
~Dawn
(also I tried to draw something like this but also couldn't picture how to do it... and you pulled it off perfectly! ^.^)

It's really difficult, yes, but Morgan does a good job actually So Thorn is very proud
And I don't think that Thorn would stop watching just because he died, no. That's so not like him

Thank you!
I'm really happy that you commented!
