Right, right. This took longer to make than it should have -___-It seems that I have a really hard time drawing at the same pace I normally did before...
This is from the exorcist roleplay with ~Himyaviewen anyway, more specifically the so far nameless band that we have there ^_^
First, there in the back, you have the singer, Dakota, with long black hair, belongs to ~Himyaviewen , then the guitarist, Megan, being the girl with long blonde hair, also ~Himyaviewen 's. Then you have Jessica - the girl with short brown hair, - who plays the bass (and belongs to me), and up front there's the drummer Drake - the reddish blonde who's also ~Himyaviewen 's - and then Carmine who plays the keyboard, and he's mine ^_^
All these are very, very illegal in the society that they live in (since such things as homosexuality, different religions, different nationality and and even some personal opinions are illegal) but they don't give a shit
I think one reason that they stick together is because they're the same on that illegal part, and find support from each other...Megan is illegal because she's a vampire, Dakota because he's bisexual and a bit too open minded, Jessica because she's gay, Drake because he's a former gun smuggler, PLUS being all gay and happy with Carmine. And that's also how Carmine is illegal, yes, since he's too nice of a person to really harm anyone
This was originally made to show how Carmine looked like, but since ~Himyaviewen must have been eating sugar pills lately, considering how she likes sweet things, I added Drake for some cuteness (since Drake and Carmine is a couple, yes, ~Himyaviewen demanded it
) Then... I just added the rest of the band to get them all on one picture But it shows that Carmine and Drake was the main people on this, even if they're not the main characters. They're actually really small...
Aaaaanyway. It took forever to colour -___-
I've really started to slack off when it comes to colouring by hand. And it looks better in real life
And Carmine looks like a girl, yes

I think that the quality of colouring is as great as ever, by the way. Everything - cloth, details, especially the score on the table

He somehow manages to be. He's very calm and... natural somehow, so I can't help liking him myself. And when I say natural I mean that he doesn't try to be something he's not - ever.
He's just genuinely nice.
And they are adorable, yes
I might have been a bit too cranky towards myself, but I just don't like it when the paper is so grainy... it makes the colours less smooth >_>

I understand. But somehow you always manage to make it look smooth. I simply don't understand how that is possible. Which I already had to mention a few times

Yes, a lot of effort, but HOW? Even if I'm laying layer over layer carefully as with the "King of Peace", the result is not as good. It's not really about practice either, it doesn't feel that practicing the same technique would make it smoother. It's not about the pencils either because the ones I use are pretty good (at least they blend well, and some are even Faber-Castell!). There simply has to be some trick to it that feels very natural to you, but the rest of us can't grasp it...

I do it very carefully, blend a lot, and use those rolled paper thingies sometimes (looks like pens, but only consists of paper, meant to smoothen the colours)
And no, the pens doesn't matter that much, since mine suck

Ever thought of a tutorial of sorts, by the way? I know I'm not the only one who wonders how you do it (and you can always ask in a poll how many people are interested). If you don't know what to say about it, maybe just a walk-through? Looking at the progress might help.
I've seen a ton of Photoshop tutorials, some on watercolours, but none on coloured pencils. Yet I don't think they're THAT easy to figure out.

Well, you can find them in (almost) any hobby shop and definately in any well-equipped art supply store, so if you can't remember where you bought the first one from, it's going to be pretty easy finding a second place

awesomeness!!! the hair, the haiiiiiiir O_O especially Drake's hair, with the colours and the shining and wow you are damn good. I love the colors too of this pic and the composition, that you can look into the room and on the table and stuff. makes it even more interesting
