Description
And so the crusade ends for one knight. I was just playing around with different ways to do lighting and this is was the result.Does anyone know if there is a better category for this?

The title is really missleading... I didn't really mean that the crusader is dieing in the picture... that would be silly... clearly he grabs the sword in his gut pulls it strait through then kills fifty other guys with it. His death comes many years later from an overdose of being awesome. Then, of course, the Chuck Norris thing. Duh.

I think it's a little light, but it's wonderful work nonetheless. I don't know about the category, I think this is fine though. They really need to put a historical category there somewhere.

It is a little hard to categorize some things... especially psodu-historical stuff. This isn't exactly researched for accuracy, it's a romanticized historical piece. Now they need "historical" and "romanticized historical" categories.
I'm glad you like it. I usually work dark and use the whole range of contrast. This time I was trying something different by working to dark than a mid-tone. (Just to see what it would look like) You are right, it makes the whole thing really light. But at least it's different.

I can safely say I played too much WoW when the first thing to cross my mind at seeing a crusader being stabbed from behind is 'Rogues do it from behind'.
Apart from that, one suffers with the poor guy. You managed to create life-like suffering, and even though it's perhaps not the most joyful emotion out there (quite the contrary, in fact), the fact that one can empathize with this fallen crusader is a testament to the awesomeness of this picture

This is pretty amazing. You manage drama very well, and the overall composition is amazing. The cross behind the crusader, his bent posture, all works together perfectly.

Thank you very much. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. I struggled a bit with the compisition... I thought maybe it was too simple. But, I think it works pretty well, just simple and clean with the focus on his face.
