History: Born to unknown parents, being unable to take proper care of him he was taken to a nearby orphanage in which he was raised until he was about a year old. In that time he was often picked on by the older dragonets, earning a scar on his tail and nickname of Mar which eventually stuck. He was adopted and raise by his loving parents, ending up in the Third Circle in IceWing society. Once he was old enough, Mar went away from home to fight in the war at the age of eight. After fighting for 3 or so years, Mar was captured in a battle and sent to Queen Scarlet's Arena.
Mar stayed in Queen Scarlet's Arena for a couple of months. In that time, he killed five dragons. The first dragon he killed without incident, the second dragon he had to fight was a MudWing, after a long battle Mar had frozen one side of the MudWing's face, and in one act of desperation, it aimed one final killing blow. Both on their hind legs, Mar readied his frost breath to finish the battle, but with his mouth agape, the MudWing died while delivering the final blow, this blow knocked off half of Mar's top jaw from the sheer force of the attack. Bleeding out, Mar was sent onto his spire. Feeling generous and not having a lot of IceWings to watch, Queen Scarlet sent a medic in training to try and save him, this medic was Arnica.
As cliché as it sounds, Mar fell for Arnica when he first locked eyes with her. Arnica, after examining what had happened to Mar, shoved two empty viles into the wound to act as nostrils. After rinsing his wound, Arnica heated a metal rod and cauterized his wounds. Passing out from the pain and blood loss, Arnica cauterized the open veins and sewed any loose skin to his head before he came to. Unable to talk from his injury, and wanting to say something to the medic who saved his life, he ended up trying to thank her by saying "Cia... Chiank oo...", which was then followed by Arnica introducing herself, and while Mar tried to say his name, he accidentally coughed blood onto Arnica's chest, embarrassing himself. However, with Arnica struggling in her life currently and not being able to laugh in weeks, laughed for the first time at Mar's mistake. Charmed, she departed the spire and into the palace.
After practicing talking all night, Mar was able to talk to Arnica the next day when she checked up on him (although with difficulty). Determined to leave the Arena alive, Mar was forced to prolong and make entertaining battled for the Queen in hopes that he would avoid the inevitable meeting of the Champion, Peril. When the Dragonets of Destiny arrived, Mar paid little attention until Scarlet was attacked, in the following chaos, Ruby took the throne and released the prisoners, giving them the option to stay in the soon to be hospital. Assuming Arnica would move on from him and continue her work, Mar spent a year in the hospital, wearing a metal prosthetic he was given, sleeping in closets and eating leftovers. However, Arnica had flown to the Ice Kingdom border to search for him.
After realizing where Arnica had gone, he raced to the Ice Kingdom border only to find Arnica barely alive wrapped in a polar bear pelt. Rescuing her and restoring her to health, Mar and Arnica moved to Possibility where Arnica would set up her own doctor office and Mar would write a biography on his life. However, Arnica was subsequently captured by her ex-fiancé Ascend who paid for two SkyWings to bring her to him, she is saved however by the visiting Blush and Mar who ends up killing Ascend.
After facing bankruptcy, Mar publishes his biography and accumulates a substantial amount of wealth.
