Love it! (If only their fans got along as they do.) Very lovely coloring, and background effects. Gives it a great wintery feel.
Only criticism is, Starlight’s tooth shading almost makes it look like a Koopaling fang. Still, love their faces.

Sunset is one of my favorites since I relate to her and I especially like how she serves as a foil to Twilight (plus, she's kind of feisty! >:3 ).
Starlight on the other hand I really hope I like more later on, on the same level, because sadly, I have yet to find to a connection like that with her (I mean to relate to her). However, I do have a soft spot for Starlight, yeah sure, she was an awesome antagonist especially in the S5 opener but I do enjoy the mishaps with magic as she learns that she can't solve her problems through only that.
And to anyone who says Sunset's Aura is now/should be a tone of red to symbolize her redemption, shut up, you're ruining the moment/point of the picture! >:U

Sunset and Starlight are my two favorite characters, the 2nd place it's for or .
I very adore Sunset and Starlight even if they made mistakes, it is better to leave a chance to improve and change. I did this for Sunset Shimmer and I was very happy with the progression of the character in the Equestria Girls.
About Starlight, it's a bit a same things, she made big mistakes and the reasons are no doubt not acceptable, but should she be condemned forever, no chance of redemption?
I prefer to leave her totally a second chance for me and I came to adore this character, not for her magic prowess but for what she tries to do.
By the way, Starlight and Sunset are almost the same characters except that Sunset has more assurance, and Starlight is more shy (a bit like Twilight or Fluttershy) and is still trying to be forgiven for past mistakes. She is always looking for redemption I think, which nerf (decrease her magic potential) a bitand prevents it from actually overtaking Twilight in a general way.

Actually, speaking of which, I feel like if there's another EG Movie or at least a Miniseries Arc of sorts, it should feature the return of The Dazzlings. With the rogue Equestrian Magic flying around, who's to say it won't effect them in some way or they'll use it to their advantage/revenge; I like the potential it could bring.
I agree, it's mostly Sunset for me in that aspect. With Starlight's redemption, at first I was unsure how to feel about it but thanks to TvTropes pointing something out, I felt better after understanding about it; including that, I agree that everyone deserves a 2nd chance when they realized they screwed up. Don't get me wrong, I think it's cool to see what Starlight can do, heck, especially in her magic practice session with Twilight in
"In Every Little Thing She Does", I wanted to see more of that XD
That's probably why fans have beef with Starlight being a near copy. I think Starlight is more bold in the leadership sense as shown in "A Royal Problem". Sure, Sunset, was as well but that's when she wanted to become a princess for the power and now after she knows better, I don't really see her daring to do something like that again or it hasn't been really said on whether she still has that boldness or not. Also on the power thing, Starlight did pretty much say that emotions fuel her magic so I don't see that being entirely wrong.
Plus, maybe that it also stems from for trying to achieve redemption but overtime, without the use of magic, since it mostly ended in trouble one way or another.
