OMG~~~~!!!! Thank you soooo much! I just got photoshop for the first time, and I've been trying to learn how to do lineart, but I just got frustrated. You have relieved my stress of learning this on my own. Again, thanks so much!

This is a wonderful tutorial. But I got lost after I closed the shape. I can't use the option 'Fill Path' or 'Stroke Path'
And now I am confused.
Did I do something wrong? D=

Really nice tutorial ^^ Thank you so much! Thought I would like to ask this thing... when I click 'stroke path' instead of a line with the shape of the path I get little dots where the anchor points were... why does this happens? I can't do anything like this :S

Awesome tutorial c:
Uhh, but you might wanna add that for this tutorial, you set the pen tool to paths. I didn't know mine was set to shapes, which kept filling in the shapes for my pen tool (making me stuck on step 5 for a while.)

Thaks abunch, this helped me tons with my new photoshop, but I've run into a pit of a dilema...
Every time I make any work on other layers with any mediums, including pen, or any work on my base layer for that matter, it will never save! No matter how many times I do it, it only saves my basic lineart that I scanned. If anyone can, please help me, it's CS3 and I REALLY need these saved. I don't know if this is a problem, but I also have photoshop 5.5 on my computer too. If anyone can, PLEASE HELP ME!!!

It will not save your Paths alone, right-click->Stroke Path to save your lines ^_^

May I ask what kind of tablet are you using?
Because I'm thinking of buying one myself, and there seems to be tons of different kinds of tablets out there....

Oooh, the joys of..mousework xDD
I'm not using any Tablet xD
Just...mouse....
-LOR on new account btw-
Though, I'd advice you to get a Wacom, if you can afford an Intuos, it's perfect.
If not, settle for a Wacom Graphire =]
Go and take a peek at Wacom's website for details on both Tablets ^_^

um I have a question.
when I close the path, and click outside the the canvas to do the "fill path" and Stroke Path (only these two)" they are grayed out, and I can't click on them. I can follow the rest of the tutorial up till there.
(I use Photoshop 7.0)

Use the Direct Selection Tool to click on the unselected path. Then the selection points will become visible again.
