Description Something a little different, started as color and landscape practice. Originally it was going to be just a person running along the arch, but 3 days of listening to Unintended by Muse on repeat does weird things to one's imagination.

I didn't want to give it a more inspired title because it could be interpreted a number of ways. The crane could be captive in its shelter and unable to follow others, or it could be stretching its wings and leaving its nest into the sunrise, or any other explanation. I figure it's something best left for the viewer to figure out for his or herself. Also if you come up with an interesting interpretation, please don't hesitate to share it.

Corel Painter 9, Wacom Intuos 3, 3 days.

Absolutely stunning. I love the use of colors in this. I'm also really liking how luminescent the wings look against the environment. Great work!

If it was a stork I'd say it was out to deliver babies but whoever said only storks could do it? I mean that's a lot of responsibility to put on one bird species. I like how even the columns have an avian touch to it. Well if I were to seriously attempt to interpret this, judging from how light the colors are and the cleanliness of the white and the outstretched hands of the crane person, I'd say they're simply just greeting the new day. They leave the good or the bad of yesterday behind and begin fresh, which is what everyone in the world needs now in order not to die young due to stress.

I commented on his before, but I was looking through my wishlist and saw this again. My cousin used to fold paper cranes before he comitted suicide. That kind of gives this a whole new meaning for me. It's still as beautiful as it ever was though

I think...
It's being held back by spiderwebs; like us in regular life. The spiderwebs in our lives hold us back as effectively as iron chains because we think they are iron chains. So we have to realize how flimsy those spiderwebs are and break away.

It kind of reminded me about a story I read somewhere.
About a japanese couple that took in a girl, she would weave them clothes to sell and make them very properous. But she always told them not to come in when she was weaving
The couple noticed the girls health had began to deteriorate over time, and one day they went into her room. Instead of a girl they saw a crane plucking feathers from it's body, once it noticed them, it flew out the window.

Beautiful work, very unique and cleverly done. This reminds me of a short series of books by Michael Scott Rohan called "The Winter of the World" there are a few scenes like this. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Whoa!!! Amazing artwork (love the cobwebs), beautiful symbolism and a very unusual image as very - bird/human crosses are very rare as original artwork and they usually include the head. This is wonderful!

This reminds me of Icarus....He still has not found the wings to fly. If only he had not flow up so far he would neve have run into problems.

I'm thinking it's a crane that wants to be human but it's stuck in it's body plus it seems to have it's legs entagled in some webbing so maybe that signifies it too

Well, today I was unfortunate enough to witness a thread full of spider horror stories and links to horrible pictures. So I am terribly, terribly concerned about the weblike stuff your crane seems to be caught in!

I think a big scary spider should be lurking in the shadows, she looks more caught than breaking free. Anyway, it is really beautiful, and nice job on the mountains.

Beautiful, I love it

I like the way the black of his/her legs look kind of dead in a way. Like he/she's stuck in poisonus spiderweb, slowly killing him/her.
