Description W00H00!!! Redone in Photoshop. The colors are much better, less orange much more realistic the background is removed nicely and the cloning is a lot better. Hope you enjoy! Feel Free to check out the scrap which is the old one. [link]

totally awesome shot. this flamingo looks amazing with the darkened background to highlight it.

I saw the scrap first and got used to seeing that one.. this one looks so "pale" in comparison.. or lighter.. or something. I think I like the vibrantly colored body feathers on the one in the scrap, but the neck in that one looks like it's glowing compared to this version (not a good thing for a flamingo).

I also don't know what to think about that background. On the one hand, having the green there makes it look more like it's natural habitat instead of an unnatural solid black, but the green stuff isn't really well defined or very noticeable anyway so maybe it's better to just get rid of it? I'm so torn..

I still like the flamingo itself though

It really only looks terribly pale on a mac, their colorspace is way different. But the other one was so un-naturally colored and the water around it was even pink, this one is still vibrant without looking faked. I personally like it better.

I didn't mind losing the background, it was dark and not clearly defined at all. I would have liked to have a stronger background so that I could emphasize the contrast of the pink and green however I lost alot of the back and neck of the flamingo to over exposure so that was out.

Aren't macs stereotypically associated with art? I didn't know their colorspace is different... that's weird to me. ....why? Enlighten me, oh knowledgeable one.

I really can't pick out which one I like better just because I saw and critiqued the scrap first. The colors do look harsh there but I can't help comparing and finding this one paler. Stupid psychological processing

In another pic you mean? You couldn't use your fancy hdri capabilities to fix that ...I'll bet that doesn't work too well for subjects that don't stay still

Lol i don't really know why mac's have a paler colorspace profile. If you go through photoshop there's actually a view mode for both windows and maciintosh and the differences are disheartening yet astonishing (when i get to work i'll be able to say what the actual path through the menus is. I haven't read up on color space profiles too much yet, that's on the to-do list though.

Lol, darn psychological processing!

Lol can't really do hdr images unless you've got a tripod, heh, and i don't really have much luck with hdr's they're just fun to play with!!

oh wow.. I never played with that before. That's weird. I checked out colorspaces on wikipedia but I didn't absorb much, lol.

Lol yeah it's a really really really weird thing, i haven't found a good explanation as of yet, but when i find one i'll re-write it in my own words and have a tutorial up again
