Description This is the working sketch for the pastel work of the Crow I posted a while ago. I came across a series of developmental graphite sketches when I was tidying up my studio, and thought it would be good to post them for people to see my creative process. I actually like the sketch more than the coloured pastel work in some regards....

...you indeed do what? Are you agreeing with my artists' comment, or am I missing some part of a hitherto unkown dialogue between us?

I do many things - including, as in this case, being so tired that I type in the wrong field and end up leaving a puzzling comment that makes no sense on its own. Its a hidden talent that I only bring out on occasions where I wish to embarrass myself, and apparently this is one of them.

That's cool . Just checking it wasn't some intentional non-sequitor comment which was intended to make me feel that I missed the boat and am now standing in knee deep swamp water with leeches climbing up my legs! WTF? I think I'm tired too!

Aussie crows are different from European crows.
Magenta, Blue and Yellow=that oily look, if shiny feathers. Anyway...Not for me to tell Ya.

Great sketch, can't wait for the final product...

Thanks very much for your feedback on the sketch. Here is the final pastel work [link] It was about 60cm tall - and was bought by fellow graphic designer friends of mine
Yes, Aussie crows have oily colours in their feathers too, but only when the sun shines on them. Otherwise they look very black indeed

Fabulous! Don't think I've ever seen this one before either - you know how much I adore the finished piece, so its great to see the sketch. Love the texture you get from using such a soft graphite - 6B? dont think I've ever used anything softer than a 2b in earnest or other than adding black in my life !

A 2B??? Wha??? You must be joking! You can't get a true black with anything less than a 6B, Sir Loopy! !
But thanks for the feedback

I think we cover the full range between us - I mostly hang around with the H crowd and you with the Bs!
