Uhg, this is my first critique, I hope I do it right.
I must say, I might be a little biased because I too hate the beard, and my Mom hates it even more. She says a 'real' Marine wouldn't have a beard (my brother is a Marine.)
First off, this is hilarious. You gave just the right amount of detail to make an impact without distracting from the funny. Sure, the wall and the couch are almost the same color, but they are not the focal points, and using the same color draws attention to the characters.
My main critique would be:
1. John's abdomen does not seem to meld with his chest/collarbone correctly.
2. John has five fingers, or rather, his thumb looks to be the same length as his fingers
However, the LOL factor overrides everything else. I KNOW other fans of Justice League have the same opinion about his beard.

Thanks for the kind critique, I know I'm pretty bad when it comes to anatomy... actually his thumb isn't really the same length as his fingers, I just did a bad job on the shading which is why it looks like that 
BTW I used the color scheme from the show for the characters and the background, the couch and wall colors came from a screencap of John's apartment. Totally not intentional

I'm so biased with seasons 1 & 2 John. He looks best there. Injustice 1 made him ugly (his hair and facial hair are too thick). Injustice 2 he somehow looked better (what would he look like if he's bald and lacks facial hair).

Oops. He's not bald in Injustice 2 but I'm glad he lacks the thick beard from Injustice 1.

Injustice 2 also made John reference his relationships with Vixen (when facing her) and Shayera (when facing Catwoman). In Injustice 1, he was just an alternate costume that speaks Hal's lines but his voice is obviously Phil LaMarr lol

First off this is funny and Shayera looks adorable, secondly I like the beard and the best way I think I could explain why we grow them even though you girls unanimously seem to hate them is cause we grew up with a feeling about growing facial hair almost the same feeling you girls have about developing "your curves" while growing up.
