Description example is page 22 c:
Here you see the difference between one less or one more hour of comic page work. Because, yes, plending TAKES TIME. I personally used 3 layers EACH for the blending for this page. One with 20% opacity for the shadow blending. One with "overlay effect" for the highlight blending and one with 30% opacity for the environmental blending (picking colors from the background and drawing them around the characters).
I hope that you clearly see how much better this page looks with the blending. It does look more "real" and that's why I am doing it. c: I think the extra work is worth it in the end.

Just to let people see that blending really DOES make a difference, since some people failed to see it for some weird reason.

and for the ones who still not see the difference: YOU ARE BLIND AS F*CK!

I see it the most obvious in sunny's mane, and pixie's tail in the panels 6 and 9

it is called blending more specifically in this case c: it describes the effect of the characters seemingly "melting together" with the background.
it's a sublte thing, but a lot of work that is worth it

The difference is subtle, but it does make a big difference, makes the characters part of those fabulous backgrounds with lighting and shadows, making everything tie together
