I did this picture of my dog. It looked amazing until I sprayed it... It looked even and fluffy, once I sprayed it, it looked flat and made the white transparent
This is the sprayed version unfortunately I didn't take pictures of the un-sprayed version....

I actually had the same problem not long ago. I was using chalk pastels and it completely diluted the color in my drawing.
