Chapter 10:
Er... (**To be edited, also!!)

  The next day, I woke up with every one of my muscles aching. I tried to sit up, but my sore body wouldn't budge at all. So I just lay down on my bed, maoning and groaning staring at the ceiling of my bedroom. "It was a bad idea to train with Todd's mom, especially after just being discharged from the hospital." I said out loud, to no one in particular.
  "Yeah, that woman may be sweet-talkin', but she does NOT give mercy, no matter what the case may be. But at least you fight with wooden swords, if you used the real ones, you'd be dead after the first blow." Aero said.
  "Yep, you're probably right about that." I said nonchalantly. I managed to turn on my side, then I looked at the clock. I read 4:46 off of the clock. It was still to early to get out of bed, but since I've been using the computer WAAAYY too much, I've gotten a bit nearsighted, only when I'm reading things, though, so I'm sure I need reading glasses. Eventually, at some point I fell back asleep. The last thing I remember before waking up again is a bright light and a woman's soft, gentle voice calling out my name.

  Later, after I got ready and got a nasty wake-up call from the apartment cleaner, Sarah, I went down to the lobby and met Todd there."C'mon Lila, hurry up. We gotta go!" Todd said excitedly.
  "So does that mean you've already gotten over you're loss?" I ask.
  "Well, I'm still a bit upset, but I've pretty much gotten over it. I got to take you on in a battle, at least, and it was fun! Okay, Lila, feast your eyes on your new cheerleader!" he said proudly. "Does that mean he's gonna wear a cheerleader's uniform and pompoms from now on?" I thought to myself and snickered.
  "Until the cup ends, I'm gonna be the president and CEO of the Lila FanClub!" he said. I nodded, but there WERE a lotta guys that liked me when we were younger, he might be a little too late. Oh well, what he doesn't know won't hurt him."Okay then, ready to go?" I asked.
  "Oh right," he said,"Yeah, let's go!!"'Well, what are you guys going to?', you're probably wondering, well here's a little flashback for ya': "Congratulations on winning, Lila." said Stella, whom we met outside the lobby before we left. "But lift your head high, Todd. You did great too." she said to the downcast Todd."Oh, hey, why haven't you duggen up any fossil rocks yet? You should have gotten a message on your paleopagers about it already." she said.
  "Oh yeah!" said Todd, clearly remembering it,"I guess I've forgotten now that Lila's been discharged from the hospital." She sighed."Well, the first dig site, Treasure Lake is finally finished with its re-construction." She pointed out a route on the map of the Caliosteo Islands that was installed in our paleopagers."This walkway over here will lead you out towards Treasure Lake. But first, allow me to give you these basic cases. You'll need them to hold your fossils. And this-," Stella gave me a license with my basic info and picture on it. The info was basically my name, age, birthday, adress, blah, blah, blah, and also had my team name I made up during registration, Team Shizen and my team, which consisted of just Aero."For winning the battle, you've been upgraded to Fighter level 2." she said to me. To make a longer-ish story short, I got more rights from the upgrade."Oh, also, another digging site is open, it's the Jungle Labrynth, but I recommend you try digging at Treasure Lake first." said Stella.
  "Awesome! C'mon Lila, let's go!!" Todd said, obviously excited and eager to go. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me along with him as he ran towards the entrance of Treasure Lake. He was already entering the dig site when one of the staff members called me over."Wait! You don't have a fossil sonar yet, do you? Well you're not gonna find any fossil rocks without it." she said, then handed me, well, a sonar, which was obviously  a fossil sonar."I tried to stop that boy who ran ahead of you, but he moved like his pants were on fire!" she exclaimed. I sighed."Todd....." I sighed, shaking my head."Oh, you know him?" she asked me.
  "Yep, he's my friend." I said, plainly.
  "Well, that's convienient. Let's go give him his sonar together, shall we?" she said, indicating me to walk along."Together?!" I thought, shocked."Todd'll probably think thatwe got in trouble for doing something and panic." I guessed. So we went over to Treasure Lake.

                                            There.......
  "Stupid fossil rocks! C'mon! Where are you?!" yelled Todd as he was runnig around frantically, looking for fossil rocks in vain. Me and the staff member sweat-dropped. He turned around and saw me with the staff member, lookung shocked."Gah! I didn't do anything wrong!! I'm innocent!" he blustered."EXACTLY what I thought he would do." I sighed, then facepalming. I hit my face with a nice, big, hearty, SLAP!"OW!!" I said, reacting the pain that flared on my face."Well that's smart." said Aero, trying to hide a snort of laughter. I ignored him, and mouthed to Todd,"We're not in trouble."
  "You didn't do anything wrong," said the staff member,"But this SHOULD make life easier." she said, handing him his fossil sonar."I tried to give this to you earlier, but you shoved past me and ran off....But that's okay. I know you're just excited about the cup."
  "Heh heh.....Yeargh."So afterwards she introduced herself as Sally(Hey, you never know if they stole someone's identity.), and explained us how to use the fossil sonars and then use our pickaxes to dig 'em up. Then she left. And then Todd ran off, yelling something about digging. So I go digging for fossils; I got a lot of jewel fossils, which A LOT of random people I don't know challenged me for, and the most epic thing happened to me: I found some fossils where the lake is, in my sonar, I try going in, but I STEP on the water; I'm not standing IN it, I'm standing ON it.(Truly the most epic thing ever, but no one saw.)(*facepalm*)(I dunno.)(Who?)<*sigh*>
  I went back to the main plaza to clean my fossil rocks when my case was full. I added a Shanshan, which is a really rare find at Treasure Lake, and a Raja. On my way back to whee I was last, there was a huge crowd assembled."Ooh, he's so dreamy. All mysterious and smoldering and stuff.."I heard some girl say. I found Todd near the back of the crowd."Hey, Lila. Did you hear? Rupert is entered in the cup!.......That's right, THE Rupert!" he exclaimed."Hmm...Where have I heard that name before?" I wondered. "They're just about to do a TV interview!" he said.
  "Good morning. I'm Linda R. Porter, reporting for Caliosteo TV. With the Cup under way, we have an exclusive interview with one of the fighters. This undefeated child prdigy is on a stunning run of victories across multiple Fossil Fighting Tournaments. He's also the heir to a multinatinal coporation that produces a wide range of goods for fighters. It's the prince of Fossil Dig Inc. and the talk of every fighter in town! Ladies and gentlemen...Say hello to Rupert!" she said, then walked over to a boy about my age with silver-ish hair,and deep-amber eyes, wearing a red cape-coat?"Rupert, let's get right to it: Do you feel confident about winning the cup?"
  "Oh yes, quite. There's little point in entering a competition if one does not expect to win."
  "Spoken like a true champion. There is little<....blah, blah, blah, this is goin' on WAAAYYY too long, you can see the entire interview in the game. SO skipping ahead:>"Oh, and we've been asked by the organizers to pass a message along to our viewers. Though you may be smitten by his roguish charm, please don't mob him or try to steal locks of his hair. Any entrants found to be annoying Rupert in such a manner may be subject to disqualification. And that's all the time we've got. For Caliosteo TV, this is Linda R. Porter signing off."she narrated the way reporters do, then she and the cast left.
  "...Idiocy." Rupert mumbled, then He left."Didja see that guy?! Talk about arrogant! He's got no right to talk that way! Only me and Lila do!" said my new, cocky companion Raja.
  "Oy! That's my line you-" said Aero, saying something in Dino-speak, which did NOT sound pretty.
  "Shut up! The lot of you! Can't you see Lila's trying to think?!" said my other new, female companion, Shiana, the Shanshan.They shut up and tried to listen to my thoughts."Where have I seen him before?!" I kept thinking.
  "Oooo! I'd like to chase after Rupert and see if he's really all that!" said Todd. I didn't reply, mostly 'cuz I was too busy thinking."They said not to annoy him, but they didn't say we couldn't challenge him! Sweet I'm going for it! Wish me luck!" he said, then ran off after Rupert. AFter a minute or two, I decided to go after him. After taking a few spills and some tree-crashes, I managed to finally find Todd and Rupert."Hey! What do you say you and me have a good,old-fashioned Fossil Battle?!" said Todd,"You know that excited feeling you get when you meet a tough fighter? Well, I have it! You like Fossil Battles and you know that feeling, so let's have some fun!" he said.
  "Please go amuse yourself elsewhere. I don't have time to wadte on the likes of you. 'Let's have fun'?''Excited feeling'? Such digusting treacle is enough to make my porridge come up!" Rupert exclaimed, disgusted. I snickered,"Who eats porridge?" I thought, and Aero, Shiana, and Raja snickered too."Frankly, I abhor to associate with fighters such as yourself. If you wish to face me in a fossil battle, you must win your way to my standing in the tournament. Of course, there's no chance of this happening, so run along now and take your sad vivosaurs with you." he said, closing the matter.
  "Huh, well I think you're just chicken! Bawk, bawk, baawwwk!" Todd taunted.
  "So you demand satisfaction, do you? Very well, if it will keep you from stalking me in the future...."<"Stalking" Heeheehee. Lol, seriously.>
  And so, they battled. Todd with only a Stego and Rupert with a Raja and a Mapo. The battle ended REALLY fast, so fast, it was almost funny. But seriously, the battle was just sad, so sad... Basically, Rupert had his Raja use Raja Fang on Todd's Stego after Todd had Stego use Spike Tail on his Raja. It was in vain, though, since it fricken MISSED. It was a one-hit KO, and Rupert SO won in a landslide."I lost. .....I lost A LOT." said Todd, stupefied.
  "Truly pathetic. Are you even paying attention to the elemental types of your vivosaurs?" Rupert sighed."....Elemental types?" Todd asked, obviously and sadly not having a clue what Rupert meant."Oh, this is sad. To think that a fighter who knows nothing about elemental types....Oh very well, pay attention." he said. Then he rambled off and gave us a lesson about elemental types and what types weer superior over the others and blahbity, blabity, blah."Not that any of this matters. I still would have crushed you in the end." he said."Grr.... this guys tiocks me off. Lemme at him Lila!" growled Raja. "Hey! That's my line!!" exclaimed Aero. I felt a pulling sensation in my hand, where I always stubbornly hold onto my Dino Medals, I have a case, but I tend to lose stuff.....Anyways, I couldn't hold onto the thrashing medals anymore, so I backflipped far, to make room, and flipped my medals high in to the air. A bright flash of light followed and out were Aero, Raja, and Shiana."Oh come on now. What is this nonsense? Must I truly battle every slck-jawed yokel who comes into view?" he sighed. "Better watch your step, punk. I'll make you wish you were never born." Aero threatened."Nobody insults my little Lily." he growled. I don't think Rupert understood, but he got the main message and stepped back a bit."Shush, Aero," I said out loud."I'll take you on then, 'oh almighty Rupert'".
  "Atta girl." said Aero. As he and Raja stepped up for battle, Shiana stepped in front of them. We completely forgot she was there, since she was silent the whole time."I'll take care of these -beep-." she snarled, stepping in front of both of them."It'll only take one of me to cream these-" she then said something intangible for me to comprehend. Aero and Raja were frightened out of their wits, since they stepped back and huddled together, afraid of the ferocious, furious Shiana."Bring it on, Rupert." putting contempt into my voice. He looked a bit afraid, but nodded and we started the battle. Rupert's team went first, and he sent out his Raja, using Raja Fang. Shiana side-stepped, dodging, then jumped up and kicked his Raja's face with her hind legs. She suddenly turned around and used Shan Fury, a move I don't remember her having, BUT she is really furious right now. It was a savage attack, totally wiping out Rupert's Raja. We all stood dumbstrucked, and by "we" I mean me, Aero, Raja, Todd, Rupert, and his Mapo. The same fate occurred to his Mapo and the battle was finshed. I, no, Shiana won. Rupert was completely shocked; he was totally speechless. Out of the blue, I noticed a little T-Rex bandaid on his cheek. Then I remembered who he was,"Oh yeah... NOW I remember you!" I blurted out loud. Everyone looked at me as if I were insane."Lila, what are you talking about?" Todd asked me.
  "I remember bumping into him last week." I said. They still looked at me as if I were mental."Lila, are you okay?" Todd asked me.
  "Yep, just fine. 'Cept I bumped into a lot of trees." I said plainly, tapping my forehead. "Er.. how many?" he asked, an uncetain look on his face.
  "Uhhhhh......." I started to try and remember, but nothing came to me."10." coughed Aero. "What?" I asked."Oh, um..about 10 times. Oh! Does it count if you trip over a stump and fall onto a rock?" I madly asked.
  "Um..Lila. Maybe you took some brain damage bumping into all that stuff. How about we go home?" he cautiously asked, like he could catch my temporary insaneness."Okaaayyy." I said, like a child.(I like to do that, actually. I just don't want to look like an idiot.) Aero, Raja, and Shiana all obediantly turned back into their Dino Medals, but not before scoffing at and taunting Rupert and his vivosaurs, currently in their medals recuperating, thanks to Shiana. She was about or maybe even more terrifying than a angry T-Rex when she was angry. Well, Shanshans ARE related to the T-Rex species. So after that we left, going back to our apartments, since it was already about 5:30 anyways. We talked for a bit and planned to go to the next dig site, the Jungle Labrynth, next. And NOW, you are finally, FINALLY filled in on what happened yesterday. >

We all stood dumbstrucked, and by "we" I mean me, Aero, Raja, Todd, Rupert, and his Mapo. The same fate occurred to his Mapo and the battle was finshed. I, no, Shiana won. Rupert was completely shocked; he was totally speechless. Out of the blue, I noticed a little T-Rex bandaid on his cheek. Then I remembered who he was,"Oh yeah... NOW I remember you!" I blurted out loud. Everyone looked at me as if I were insane."Lila, what are you talking about?" Todd asked me.
  "I remember bumping into him last week." I said. They still looked at me as if I were mental."Lila, are you okay?" Todd asked me.
  "Yep, just fine. 'Cept I bumped into a lot of trees." I said plainly, tapping my forehead. "Er.. how many?" he asked, an uncetain look on his face.
  "Uhhhhh......." I started to try and remember, but nothing came to me."10." coughed Aero. "What?" I asked."Oh, um..about 10 times. Oh! Does it count if you trip over a stump and fall onto a rock?" I madly asked.
  "Um..Lila. Maybe you took some brain damage bumping into all that stuff. How about we go home?" he cautiously asked, like he could catch my temporary insaneness."Okaaayyy." I said, like a child.(I like to do that, actually. I just don't want to look like an idiot.) Aero, Raja, and Shiana all obediantly turned back into their Dino Medals, but not before scoffing at and taunting Rupert and his vivosaurs, currently in their medals recuperating, thanks to Shiana. She was about or maybe even more terrifying than a angry T-Rex when she was angry. Well, Shanshans ARE related to the T-Rex species. So after that we left, going back to our apartments, since it was already about 5:30 anyways. We talked for a bit and planned to go to the next dig site, the Jungle Labrynth, next. And NOW, you are finally, FINALLY filled in on what happened yesterday. >
