This is for a small movie, a film festival type movie. i grew up on movies like the dark crystal, return of the Jedi, sesame street/muppets, and never ending story.... and i have been waiting for a chance to try my hand at movie creatures 8D
(CGI sucks compared to costume, puppet, and animatronic work, even if it does not look as real as CGI it feels more real because the creature is REALLY THERE!)

it is a short film from Taylor Armstrong, starring Colt Cabana and Becca Brown.
Colt is a former WWE wrestler and he will be playing the part of a big hairy scruffy closet monster made by....ME

This was a very fun and liberating project because i had full artistic liberty (aside from making him big, wide, more monstery human than monstery animal, having long really really messy fur, and being neutral colored) he is a creature unlike what i usually get to make, and he is purposefully really ugly and messy looking which was like a fricken awesome change of pace.

i have no idea when and where the film will be playing because it will be submitted to as many film festivals as possible (around the world) when the film is done, and i was told it might be put online about a year after it is done (they hope to have the film put together in November)

i was technically closed for commissions when i took this on, but they were willing to pay double with 60% up front, give me full artistic freedom, and its been like a dream to get even a small film gig. so yeah contacting me was like waving a carrot covered in sugar cubes in front of a horse XD
how could i say no?
to be honest i was still skeptical of the whole thing at first, but sure enough the 60% came the same day i agreed to take on the job and so it proved to be a real deal and not too good to be true!!!

I had no sketches, no plans, i just sat down and began building. the face turned out quite different than planned (fin fact: the biggest horns on his muzzle are actually where his nostrils first were because the nostrils being there made him look like a cow) but i did not fight my muse and just let him come to life. the chest, hands and feet are latex premades that i modified (the feet are heavily modified and i created the feet bottoms from scratch) and repainted.

daylight is not very flattering on this fellow but that is because he was painted at night under a 50 watt light. he will be filmed in dim light and i was asked to give his fur some sharp contrast through fur texture and color.
