I would have loved to have both this and the finished product side-by-side in my home. As a fledgling painter, I am amazed at the contrast in just the grey tones. When you painted the color, would the color tones appear on their own over the grey, or do you choose each color specifically?

I like it this way much better than the finished product. The finished tulips are like a photograph and clearly a beautiful painting, but this is sooo interesting to look at.

this is really interesting, i never heard of this technique of painting it colourless first and then applying colour... but it obviously works well for you... its very interesting

This is an underpainting? Oh dear, it's already a work of art on it's own.
I can't imagine how wonderful the finish product will look like.
