Description It is an old Icelandic tradition to build a small pile of rocks to mark your presence and as a lucky token for the onward often quite perilous journey. Here at Tingvellir (where the Eurasian and North American sockets are drifting apart), many vikings have made their way through!

How very interesting! And moving! What an unthinkably vast number of footsteps there are that lead out of the distant past to the place where we now are. Thanks for putting this up.
