Close up is here: [link]Here is a young Leonardo da Vinci, a combination of his character in Assassin's Creed II, and referencing from the earliest known portrait of him, minus the beard.
The tools I guess belong respectively to Ubisoft, the art sketch that would have made a lovely painting (a wish) belongs to Leonardo himself.
I did this along with my classes final. Took a little longer to finish I was putting off doing his hands, but it's all done! All my unfinished work... not unlike Leonardo's... heh.
Started off rough as digital
Cleaned up as actual pencil lineart on paper (backwards I know). Several references used from in game, my own photos, and clothing references.

Thinking about young Leonardo reminds me that he was so good, he made his master vow to never paint again
I love the lighting in this picture, and how the background looks kind of... I don't know, while Leonardo has more solid colors and slightly simpler textures (aside from the complex designs on his shirt), there's a background, but nothing in it to distract you from Leonardo and his painting

Very impressive, I especially like the historical references, the lighting, and the way that you drew Leonardo as a young man rather than as "the old man with a long white beard"
I've always been fascinated by Da Vinci and I like this picture, well done
