This is an Illustration I made for an old Story Concept I have.

In this world Witches are people who establish bonds with demons and gain magical powers through that. Demons, in this context, are the essence of things made real. This can range from an elemental demon, to a graveyard demon, to a demon of creation.

When young witches-in-training are ready to become true witches, they take on a witch name and make a bond with their first demon. Their witch name describes their purpose as a witch and is considered their true name. Going against the purpose is paramount to losing your status as a witch (as it is usually also accompanied by breaking the bond to your demon).

This illustration depicts Ayugero (meaning: Friend of Demons) and the first demon he bonded with, Niko (meaning: Nature)
