Description Yay! A collection of some of the most inspiring and fascinating women of classic literature of all time!! Jane Austen is my favorite author and I had been wanting to do this piece for a while now. I was first inspired to do it when I saw palnk's Austen girls pic: [link] She is such a talented artist and I totally love her work!

Anyway, I was so excited to begin experimenting with this new mechanical pencil style and draw these wonderful characters that I finished drawing all seven in a record time of two days!! (That's really good for me!) I was also kind of experimenting and practicing character design with this piece, because I'm really bad at that!

Starting from the first page of the book down, the characters are Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice, Elinor Dashwood and Marianne Dashwood from Sense and Sensibility, Emma Woodhouse from Emma, Fanny Price from Mansfield Park, Anne Elliot from Persuasion, and Catherine Morland from Northanger Abbey. I tried to draw the characters according to their personalities.

Note: Remember how I was laboring over designing Elizabeth? Well, I finally got a set design for her! Woot! And...I don't want to hear things like, "Oh, so-and-so looks too much like this Disney princess" because most of the facial structures WERE based off of disney princesses. Bonus points if you can guess which austen character goes to which princess! (There will be some doubles.)

One more thing...Emma's hairstyle, eyes, and expression were based off of my best friend. I think she's very much like Emma in personality and in looks, so the sketch of Emma is a tribute to her!!

Your definitely welcome!
Me too! I like Elizabeth better, but Emma's cool. I just read the book, (I got it for my 13th birthday) watched the 1996 version with Gwyneth Paltrow two nights in a row, and am gonna watch the 2009 version sometime soon . As much as I love Emma though, I still love Pride and Prejudice more... by a little bit.

Yeah, Elizabeth Bennet is my favorite.

That's cool! I've read the book, but I haven't watched the movie, is it good? And happy birthday too.

I agree--Pride and Prejudice is the best!!

You've got the style down! seeing them drawn this way it's funny that the style fits the characters so well.

Hehe!!

Thank you!! I was seriously worried they wouldn't come out right. I think I'll do more with character design in the future. I need to improve on it anyway, and practice makes perfect!
