This is such a period piece (pun)
All i see is, nasty panties time.
I never trust anything that bleeds for several days but doesn't die.
p.s. your other works are great : )

Hey, it must be rough, trying to amuse yourself enough so the fact of your eternal chicklessness won't make you fucking kill yourself.

Copic markers? Do they work well?
I love her outfit, it ties in well with the really creative background....

To be honest, they're so expensive I never bought more than these six colors. I prefer Letraset Trias (also expensive), and use Dick Blick markers now, which are both cheap AND pretty great.

Pretty much what everyone else said.
They're alcohol based markers, and alcohol dries fast, but as long as they're still wet, you should have no troubles. Work fast, and in small, strategic strokes.
Also, paper makes a difference too. Generally, you want smoother, less absorbent paper. Copic sells paper, it's a little pricey, but works great.
Lovely image!

I actually really like the lines on the legs and arms - it looks really cool to me. Like a shine or something?
I really dig how you used that very Japanese ukiyo-e imagery and warped it to your own style and how you wanted it.

I use Prismacolor and there are no lines. Another thing is you can't color in lines like that. It's kind of like.... buffing!? You want to use circular strokes. It keeps your color thick and a little wet so you can have blending fun!! Hah. I'm no expert, but it's seemed to work for me.

The comment and advice may be a little late, but with copics you need to work quickly and make sure that you're using the right kind of paper. I've never used bristol board but you might want to thumb through a copy of the how to draw manga copic marker special to see what different effects the markers have on different papers, or just do some experimentation on your own as well.

oooh!ooh! i kno i kno! i love copic markers! use em all the time! my best suggestion is u have to color kind of fast! color while the ink is still wet cuzz once it dries its hard to make the colors are hard to blend together...and also coloring in smaller areas work rele well too! ^^ if u need anymore tips just ask! :]

My only suggestion for copic blending is to do it quick... Once the area dries and you use the blending marker, it tends to blotch up. It also depends on the paper that you use, some papers work differently with the blending marker--at least, from my experience.

you need Marker Paper. The marker paper keeps the overlap lines from happening. I love that stuff
anyway this is adorable. nice work

I don't know why, but the darker pink areas of The Wave reminds me of muscle fibers, which actually makes sense as the wave is a moving thing. x)

The paper you use can affect how much they streak. If you use reasonable printer paper it usually doesn't, because the colours saturate quickly. The blender can cause the ink to blotch too.
This looks lovely but I can't help but think about getting my period when I see it (a red wave...). I'm sorry, I feel really bad about it! I love the way you drew the legs, the little details like muscle and the face as well.

Yeah, what the others said: work fast. You get no streaks if you blend before it dries.

really? i use sketch markers all the time and never get lines :T i usually make colour one area very quickly [ before the markers dry ] and colour from the same point, sorry if that sounds confusing xD
the type of paper can also really affect how the markers come out [: it takes a while to get used to them, so for you to have just gotten them this is reeeally good. have fun P:

Well, even though copics are the best markers out there you're just not going to get the quality you want out of them. You could try the cpoic airbrush and that would give you a more even look, but it's still not going to get you the level that quality materials will.

Ravendown [2007-03-01 02:14:28 +0000 UTC]
With my copics you have to work fast, otherwise they dry and leave those lines. Usually instead of making long strokes I make short ones, which allows it to blend better.
For an example, with the legs, try making your strokes horizontal insted of vertical. This allow for less drying.
Hah hah, menstrually liberated.

It's dreamy. The strong lines, the patterns for the waves and the simple beauty of the colours make it gorgeous like a poster from the sixties.
