This one's for the insanely talented Sam Haney , who asked for herself in a steampunk costume she made herself, and some steampunky cogs and such. I've never tried to do anything vaguely steampunk, and I'm balls with mechanical stuff, so this was definitely a challenge, but I really like how it turned out. And Sam is so cute, it was a pleasure to draw her.Yes, I have heard KT Tunstall's Eye to the Telescope and I like it very much.
This is a store-bought Moleskine journal, with sepia archival ink (Martha Stewart) and white colored pencil (Prismacolor), which hold up to a lot of handling. It's an 80-page blank journal with a pocket, 5 x 8.25".

Do you lightly sketch what your going to draw first then ink? Or go straight on and ink?

Aw, thank you! Yep, I first draw a little sketch on paper, then sketch with light pencil onto the cover. It erases pretty smoothly.

The steampunk theme definitely works with the color of the paper. This looks like it would be found in the library of some steampunk-themed zeppelin or something lol.
