That reminds me- in the manga inuyasha when *SPOILER ALERT* Kikyo was about to pass on peacefully- it reminded me a lot of this scene in the movie where there was a bunch of comparisons such as: the fact that she was dead and there was a living rival, the main villian responisble for the death, 'set me free' line, and the change into numerous butterflies/light that goes to heaven.
I think Takahashi ripped Burton off but it must have been coincidence.
