I rather liked Sam in the first season, but in the new ninth he is much better. After all, the intermediate state was not good for me. XD

I can neither confirm nor deny that, as I am not yet caught up. I'm mid-season eight, and so far he's being a total dick and his hair is ridiculous.
Seriously, though, his 90's hair from season one wasn't really ideal, I quite preferred it around season four or five, but even season SEVEN was better! Cut your damn hair, boy! (Or, at least, trim it!)
