Description Today I jumped around in the neighborhood enjoying the sun and taking some shots of the awakening nature. This is one of them. A lovely little flower in spiral form but don't ask me what it is. Maybe anyone knows?

It looks like Symphytum ( aka comfrey). Love the photo.

Aha! :] I got it. This is definately a type of Comfrey. Same fuzzy flower, thick stem, double colored flowers, budding stages..
Here are some examples: [link] [link] [link]

Yay! Not many photos of them from the side. And it seems like alot of them are shades of purple. Congrats on coming across such a beautiful shade of crimson! And thank you for sharing :]

I only wonder if there's really a foxglove with two different colors of flower on one stem.

That's totally gorgeous! I love how it's...well...unfolding! And the progression from red to white is awesome!

Did you ever find out what kind of flower it was?

Lilyas In reply to AnnamaeTezuka [2010-04-23 21:09:29 +0000 UTC]

They say it is Foxglove.

Ohhhh, wow, I feel sheepish. Someone else on dA recently had a picture of foxglove up and I picked up on it right away. I was actually thinking "I wish I could ID this, I got that foxglove so easily!" XD The reason I didn't recognize it right away like I did then is because the way I know it's foxglove is by looking inside the bell-shape - there's this little pattern that looks like dried bubble stains that's characteristic of foxglove. But yeah, that bell-shape...wow, I feel incredibly dense right now. XD
