ahh...another serene picture for me to gaze at. yum....
the hanging leaves in the dark sky makes me interpret this one as though the branches and leaves are like bodies and arms hanging downwards from the apocalyptic sky. all the while the background is shaded with smooth nature's rendering...giving these "bodies" a sense of ease towards their afterlife.
and yes, i do have strange, freakish interpretations. hahahaha

There's nothing wrong with strange. It's much better than thinking what everyone else thinks.
I tend to associate willows with the traditional ideas attatched to them about death and lost love. That goes very nicely with the twilight, I think.
Your interpretation makes me think of medieval art depicting the blessed ascending into heaven and the damned descending into hell. It's definitely much more dramatic that way.

yeeaahh...it seems you know what im talking about...*i think.* but the way i see it, often times, whenever i imagine willows, they're always dangling in some dark, creepy looking area...
mmm...have you ever seen them lit up by fireflies when flying by the leaves at night? i saw it somewhere at a park in vietnam once...its so niiice...

Willows are not terribly common where I live. You see them mostly in yards and gardens. I think they like more water than we tend to have.
It would be quite something to see one lit by fireflies. Fireflies are strange, wonderful little things, I think.
