Thing what I learned about the Potential is that the lower grades mean mastery of it's ability. For Black Diamond, it's Shapeshifting

Well I thought the potential was based around what you could actually do with its abilities cause there are some stand with multiple abilities and some to the point of not even being explored. Shapeshifting Thats neat standpowa

With Jotaro, Star Platinum is A in part 3 and 4 because he still hasn't tapped into the true potential of his stand. In part 6 its C because he pretty much knows the limits of his stand and brought time stop back to five seconds. With Josuke, Crazy Diamond is C because Josuke knows the limits of restoration. It's all about skills basically 

Shapeshifting is very useful because it can do a lot of stuff

You know how Kira has Sheer Heart Attack? It's like that. Black Diamond has two tails. He takes those tails off and turns them into spheres that he that he throws. When the spheres make contact with their intended target, they take the shape of two of figures that looked similar to the original Black Diamond: Saint and Sinner. They'll continue to attack and follow the target no matter how far they get
