Okay, so apparently when the artist made Steven's mother skinner than she was - the fandom on Tumblr and beyond fucking. Believing her to be intolerant of fat people, they harassed her to the point of suicideβ¦but when they found out she wasn't dead, they continued to attack her while she was in recovery.
Oh, but when the show's creator and producer stepped out to tell them "Anyone can make any fan art they want" - they didn't stop. It got worse. They then attacked them and dug around the creator's old art of Eddy and Edd (Ed, Edd, and Eddy) having sexual relations - claiming she's a pedophilia.
There's a segment dedicated to that in a review of Steven Universe from an edgy as fuck guy who hates the show and explians why. I can send you a link to it if ya want.
