Hey everyone! Here is Gabumon (and a surprise Betamon) painted! There are so many Digimon I want to paint, so I think I am going to paint more than one in each piece. The center piece is Gabumon of course, but Betamon is there stealing Gabumon's fish pile. Of course Gabumon isn't to happy with Betamon's thievery, so he is getting ready to serve a little bit of Blue Blaster on Betamon's ass.

Anyways, I want to thank you all for all the support and now I need to start pondering on Garurumon's painting. I am thinking of an epic battle between Garurumon and Seadramon like in the anime. It'll be so awesome.

Simply gorgeous. I especially love how amphibious Betamon looks when compared to the more Saurian Gabumon. It feels like a scene that could've took place during the Mesozoic, and that alone makes me love this image.

That would be fantastic if it was gomamon chasing him, I never thought gabumon would be represented as a reptile but I don't see anything bad in him being a reptile.

Now that I look at your version of a realistic Gabumon and the original picture of Gabumon . . . I know that his evolution basics is based on wolves/canines, but seriously where is the reptilian-like part on the whole line? Β

Yep, pretty much. Only real difference is the horn and some ofΒ the markings.

No.
The Head is small in comparion to the body
and he should be a little more short.
Because if you watch the original Gabumon after the belly comes soon the short neck, he almost has no chest and neck.

If the Gabumon is facing you, you can divide in in twoΒ

1 - Head and horn
2 - Belly and down legs
And the body language doesn't correspond to the reality
He is like a lazy personΒ
Ex.: The arms should be more down like if was dragging them and he should be more curved
The way the body language is he looks more Agumon than Gabumon
I know you want to do your personal draw
But this is just my opinion

I see what you are saying, but like you said, it's your opinion. Everyone is going to have their own preferences on how a realistic Gabumon should look, and I like the way I went about creating him.
Also, have you ever seen what Gabumon looks like without his fur coat? He does kind of look like Agumon.

Yeah, but that doesn't look realistic. Not many animals with limbs have no neck or chest, they need muscles to control those parts of the body. The only animal I can think of that has no neck or big chest would be a frog.Β You can always try to draw your own gabumon, make him the way you want it so you don't have to worry about how I painted mine.

Sure thing. I am open to critiques, and I appreciate all the advice you gave, but it doesn't help this particular piece of artwork unless I redo the whole thing. That is why I am not so responsive with your comments for now, but if I ever paint gabumon again I'll keep your comments in mind.

Yeah there is no problem.
By the way the most thing that I like is the skin texture of the all digimons you have drawn it is like if we could feel theΒ roughness or the softness the skin.
