Description
After the Interlopers found themselves in the Twilight Realm, they saw a threat in the powerful fairies that lived in the heart of the forests. Afraid that their powers could go away in time, they sealed the dark ladies, bounding them to their fountains, making it impossible for them to leave. Over time, they became nothing but a myth to the Twili.My take on one of the Great Fairies of the Twilight realm, for an ongoing story with Webmegami
Here Agni, Aruyda and Yzei meet the Great Fairy for the first time. Despite the fact that they'd been looking for her, they were not prepared for what awaited them inside those ruins.
I wanted to make a counterpart of sorts to Webmegami's Great Fairy of Light , so I kept some of the features she shares with the Light Spirits, while introducing twili markings and elements from Zant and Midna's concept art. Time has not been kind to this Lady.
This was meant to be a concept sketch. Joke's on me.

Between the hair, the arms floating in sections, the helmet, and everything else, this Great Fairy of Twilight makes me think of if Bongo Bongo, one of the Great Fairies from Wind Waker, Midna, and the girl from the Ring had a love child. She's both creepy and beautiful. I don't want to wake her up from a nap because she might kill me. Or maybe give me a free single heart unit or two to keep the beeping noises from irritating her and then warning me to never return unless I come with a way to free her so she might take revenge on the people who wronged her, even though those people are dead. (Do Twili die? Are they weird spirit things? So many questions to answer).

It's the creepy that requires examination, which is my favorite kind of creepy. At first glance, she's beautiful. And this Great Fairy really is, and she's not N64 beautiful that was more creepy because polygons and CONE BOOBS!!!! No. She's awesome in the forma definition of awesome- "extremely impressive or daunting; inspiring great admiration, apprehension, or fear." She inspires admiration, apprehension, and fear. Like the pretty person you want to ask on a date because what if they say yes and it becomes a long-term relationship you can be happy with for years or decades to come, or learning how to drive stick. It's memorable and haunting. The light is warm and welcoming, but she may not be, and her being bound to her fountain may be the only thing keeping you, an intrepid and usually dauntless explorer, from vaporization. Fear is a companion, but your courage usually helps push you onward. Further into the beyond, but not the great beyond. The Great Fairy of Twilight makes courage fail because you don't know what she's like. Only the myths of her and her terrible power are the only information you have. She's meant to looked at from a distance, and heaven help if she spots you. She'll remember. Forever. And so will you. And you'll awake at night in your bedroll wondering how she let you live...

I miss Twilight realm, wonder if it will ever be brought back again

I was curious mostly cause so far the only male fairy we have seen is Tael
Who knows, but since in Breath of the Wild the Gerudo were brought back again, it's possible

I honestly love the atmosphere in this picture and the design of this Great Fairy of Twilight! 
It has some sadness and intimidating aspect too. And the way she seems partly broken is an amazing detail!
I hope our heroes will be able to bring her some help though, she surely doesn't deserve to remain sealed this way!
