Description Time for something new since my exams are over!

This is for a friend's birthday too ^^

Made with a pattern from Makibird-Stitching

I changed the colors a little 'cause I din't want to buy so many colors, and added an outline.

I still come back and look at this and think about how awesome it looks.

Is it okay if I feature it on the pattern's page on Birdie Stitching? I've been using the DA embed feature to link back to people's deviations

The stuffing is a great idea! He's like a teeny little pillow. ^_^

that is just so cool. i saw your dog version sometime ago and that inspired me to make my own versions. one question i have is what thread count is that cloth, cause i think what i used came out a little bigger.

Hi! I used 18ct vinyl aida. Hope you have fun making your own handphone straps!

Psst, how did you make that?

lingggg In reply to Makibird-Stitching [2011-04-04 15:00:04 +0000 UTC]

I used vinyl aida, stitched the bulbasaur's front and back(in this case I flipped the pattern horizontally), then I cut them out and sewed them together with transparent nylon thread.

Hope it helps!

This. Is. So. Flippin. Amazing.

So did you buy a strap and then like, sew the two together, and put some stuffing inside?

Heheh thanks for the compliment! By the way, I suggest using vinyl aida because classic aida will fray.

Hope you have fun making your handphone strap!

Vinyl? Is that like the plastic?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lingggg In reply to Trekkie4life328 [2011-03-06 10:18:18 +0000 UTC]

It's not plastic, just that it is a little stiffer than the regular aida.

Oooh okay. Thanks! Cause I keep seeing people on here that have done it on plastic, for pins and whatnot, and I have yet to go to the store to buy some of that and try that out. I have a lot of work to to now!
