Description Model: Amber

Ever wonder what Amber looks like before makeup and hair? Believe it or not, I actually did 2 photoshoots with Amber on that same day (3 if you count the test shoot the day before). This is one of the images from our artistic shoot. Quite early in the morning... I made her get up for a sunrise shoot at 7am. She showed up at 6:45.

Comments and suggestions always appreciated.

This is probably one of my last Amber pics for a while. I'm off to China soon. I may or may not do a pic tomorrow, but I think it'll be a surprise as to what it is. Thanks everyone!

haha go check your 700 . I usually save many on my comp. acts as my inspiration. the XT is awesome. I havent' done any portraits yet but I am planning to before the summer ends. that's why I got the XT like end of june. Just took a few of my figures again. But yeah I am looking forward to your china pics, AS WELL as the creative process....(journal entry? haha)

All right mate, here you got a beautiful shot The model is beautiful she looks a lil'like Emmanuelle Beart--a French actress that plays Claire Phelps in 'Mission: Impossible' [link] I love the blury background, light and colors. The skin tone is also really good. Nice composition--in particular, the model on the right, that allows a logical readout of the pic. You got a here, man!
And also your camera is cool, I plan to buy the same. What lens did you use for that shot? I'd like to get one w/the same magnification, maybe a 85 mm...

Hey, thanks for the awesome comment and the encouragement you gave me! And thanks a bunch for the too! The lens I used for this shot is actually the 50mm f/1.4. I think I shot this at aperture priority at about 2.0 and 100 iso. She was sitting at the other end of the bed, so if I used my 85mm, I would only be able to get a head closeup shot.

Haha, well, this was after my art set with her, so she had a little bit of makeup on. I've never seen a girl in my life that woke up like that (unless she did it secretly 5 mins before I woke up).

Model are just people... all you have to do is ask. As long as it's a place with people, models are there. It just takes a daring photographer to approach them. Of course, as a photographer, you have to be genuine and cannot come off shady or anything. I see a lot of photographers lack the social aspect of photography. IMO, what makes a great photographer isn't really technical skill, but the ability to deal with models and people and be able to envoke genuine comfort and emotion.

I really love the composition. Her eyes perfectly "open" the picture. I also love the soft reflection and the way it looks both different and similar with the model.
The atmosphere is very nice too. I think it is due to the soft lighting.

Wow, thanks... Your feedback is really important to me, since I always take it in, and sometimes modify my edits and repost based on them.
