(The actual spelling is LΓΊthien, but the title can't have accent marks)My most complicated project yet.
This was based off of a necklace I bought at a fair - I've been looking at them every year and admiring them, so I finally got around to buying one so I could copy the pattern
I had to modify the top part into netting, and the original has 14 diamonds (I settled for nine because it was taking so long, but mostly because I was running out of purple beads. Looks like I'm off to the store again soon!) Every other diamond has a purple glass crystal in the center.
I have some plans for a similar design necklace, coming soon, hopefully....
The name comes from Tolkien's Silmarillion, again. I've always imagined her with a lot of blues and dark purples, like dusk. You can read the ballad about her here

Quite lovely. It's interesting to me that you were able to figure out how to do this from another necklace. I have problems "deconstructing" things like this in order to figure out how to work it.

Wow but wow but WOW this is a stunner! I absolutely love this! I totally don't have the patience for bead weaving. The design is gorgeous, those pretty blue-grey beads set it all off so well!

Thank you! It did take quite a while to make, mostly because I didn't have a pattern; I had to use an actual necklace as a guide. But I really do like how it turned out, so I think it was worth it too
