IGNACIO
He watched her consider his question, puzzling out the intent with her cleverness, and waited in warm silence for her answer. He had not always been so patient, but grief could gentle even the eternal heart, and he was not as infallible to the earth’s influence as he believed.
I understand. He told her, and lowered his head so that their gazes were level. His voice lowered to a rumble, as though what he told her next was meant to be a secret only she could ever know.
For I too have struggled. The god murmured. I have feared change so keenly that galaxies shattered beneath my hooves, and darkness swallowed my side of the sky.
He held her gaze for a moment that seemed to stretch onward past eternity itself, and yet was gone in the blink of a dying ember. Ignacio raised his head, and between them the blade glowed brighter yet.
Change is always a gamble, dear Faiza. His eyes were burning stars as he spoke. Fire does not deal in destiny. We risk all that we are for the chance to carve our own fates - for the glory of our ambitions.
He struck his hoof to the floor and sparks glittered in the movement’s wake.
I cannot promise you safety, and I cannot promise success. He admitted. But the Stars have granted you the means, and you have granted yourself the success.
His nostrils flared, and the following words rumbled the Starscape, punctuated by a tangible pride.
We are Fire, child. Our ends are met with means crafted from our own design. Your choices cannot smother you, so long as you do not let them.

FAIZA
A soft gasp left her lips, and she met Ignacio’s gaze. A part of her still felt like this must have been a dream, the other part would not have dared doubt the fire god. She watched the slitted eyes in awe, but couldn’t even begin to imagine the depths of the universe they had seen. She felt encompassed by warmth, and for a blink of an eye pondered that she would probably never be as understood as now. It did give her a lot of strength.
She watched as the blade glowed, and sparks ignited from a simple movement in front of her. But it was more so the words that filled her heart, ignited it. When the weight of her doubts was lifted, for a moment she felt powerful beyond measure. The words resonated within, and she made sure to save them within her soul.
Faiza nodded deeply, in both gratitude and respect.
“I hear you. I understand. I will… keep going”, she said, sounding touched yet determined: “I hope I will make you proud. That whatever I bring to this world, will.”
She glanced at her belly with soft eyes, then shifted her gaze back to Ignacio, and added with her heart full of love, the love that had carried her this far: “Thank you.”

I really liked that background stock and ended up being able to fit quite minimal likeness to it, I hope I'll do it better justice sometime in the future.
