Wanted to practice working with watercolors, layering them whatnot. I needed a piece to practice on and I figured a dragon would be a fairly simple rendering to achieve this. I think it turned out pretty neat! Color wise not my first choice for a dragon, but they at least compliment each other.Related content

Indeed a purple dragon, and I suppose it's a she, I can't remember the musings I had while painting this one, but she does have an elegance to her most fitting to give her the female title.

He was fun to watch you paint. I really love the cloud patterns you have going on in this piece. You have really been challenging yourself at water colors dear and I think you did something really amazing here. I just love it.

Since I went to college, and I suppose late in high school. But I grew up drawing horses so dragons was a surprisingly lateral move for me <3 thank you sooo much for your inquiry.

What do you suggest for a high school student who is learning the basics and is at a level 2 in Multimedia Art?

Well, I'm not sure how the levels work in high school... all art programs were cut in my high school due to budeget problems but it really depends on what your overall focus is - if you want to succeed in art you've got to understand what jobs use the skills you're perfecting right now. I chose to go into graphic design and design production so I could use my illustration tools to better purpose.

animation is a great pursuit! I wouldn't know where to direct you in that way, I had wanted to do it before but found myself greatly overwhelmed by it! but your art is so amazing, I'm sure you can do it! Just find the right tutorials, classes, anything you can do to educate yourself in this pursuit and you'll make it a reality!

of course! Just need to find a way for you to attend the art nights I host - I'm not much of a digital artist but I do host traditional art night experiences - and sometimes for my out of town friends we just conference call them in so we can all just hang out and enjoy being artists

I like the way the colors turned out on this one! The clouds look especially great; whatever you did to make them, I think you should do the same thing in the future for watercolors.
