Description Fan art time! The gentleman with the thistle-down hair from Susanna Clarks's Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell.

This is probably my favourite fictional faerie. (The book, by the way, is along with Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens my favourite book of al time.) There is no way I could ever do him justice, but... I tried. I'm not happy with it, but I don't hate it with the fire of a thousand suns, so.

I think this really resembles what he is supposed to look like... especially the hair. His hair is amazing.

Currently reading Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell myself. It's a wonderful story so far, told in a charmingly dry fashion.

Your image of the gentleman with the thistle-down hair is one of the best I've seen yet. Very nice!

Oooh! I think you captured him really well, actually. He'd make an intriguing design for a doll.

wonderful job on the Gentleman's hair have you read any of her short stories ? I believe it was Mr Simonelli, or the Fairy Widower that had a very gentleman with thistle-down hair like faerie in it .

LURVE--THIS--BOOK! I saw the title of this and was all "OH OH OH!"

I tried drawing this guy myself once and got his eye color wrong. Plus I just suck at drawing people. I like the look in his eyes and the green clothing you dressed him in.

I didn't realize she ever told us what colour his eyes are! What is it?

Light blue, if I remember correctly. So maybe you subconsciously did right

I haven't read it, but I can already tell the character is fascinating. So I say well done! What was your medium?

What is Peter Pan in Kensington gardens? A real other novel about Peter Pan? and what does happen in the other book? Is it an old one too?

Yes, it's JM Barrie's other book about Peter, about him as an infant living in Kensington Gardens. It's quite a lot different from the Neverland book, not as exciting but extremely beautiful and clever and sad.

Oh, it's in no way related to Peter Pan, it's just my other favourite book!

Finally! I have been awaiting this since you mentioned you wanted to do it!

And I understand the feeling of not being able to do him justice, but it turned out great
