My 2nd tattoo. The drawing above the picture is the design I came up with.The idea came to me at some odd hour of the night, when I was thinking about things. It does represent something to me.
Done at Trader Bob's Tattoos, St. Louis, MO.

It represents hope. Emily Dickinson is one of my favorite poets, and though I hadn't been reading any of her work that night, I suddenly sat up with the line "Hope is a thing with feathers/that perches in the soul" stuck in my head. I had been stressing about a tattoo to get, but it really needed something deep and inspirational if it was going to be where I can see it all the time.
The only downside is my wrists are too small for even a big bracelet to cover it lol

uhhh, not enough yet, probably 15 hours or so on my right arm and maybe l8 or so on my left, i still need a lot more hours but i have to pay bills and what not first

I gotta worry about paying for school...so I need to try and restrain myself from getting anymore for a bit.

i have two artist that im pretty loyal too lol, for my right arm i go to a shop called "bodyart tattoo" in plattsburgh new york, and my left arm is done at a shop called "abouttime tattoo" in nashua new hampshire

I haven't found an artist that I could completly commit to yet... but I kind of like the idea of being a canvas for several artists. I like the shop I go to, it has a nice feel to it, great artists... very clean. Plus, it's one of, if not the oldest, tattoo shops in this area.
Hm...If I ever get a chance to go up to that neck of the woods, I might have to check those shops out.

i did a lot of "shopping" for artist, most of the tattoo artist i have met have been stuck up jerks...i wont get a tattoo from an ego junkie regardless of how good the art is, so luckily i found two great artist with great personalities. what area and what shop do you go to?

Ah. I've been in 3 shops. The 1st one has a habit of cancelling people's appointments at the last minute; the 2nd one didn't appeal to me, and the last one is the place I go. They're pretty friendly there, at least from the several artists I've met.
I go to Trader Bob's in St. Louis, it's in a bad neighborhood though. I thought I was going to get shot or ran over when I was running to the gas stations next door and across the street.

i design most of my tattoos but its way different tattooing them than it is just jotting something down on a piece of paper ya know

Yeah. I just told my artist what I wanted for my 1st tattoo, the 2nd one I had a drawing, the artist tweaked it and about 20 minutes later I'm lying through my teeth telling the people I was with it didn't hurt at all. >_>

Yeah. Once it went over the middle part and got closer to the hand on the right side, I was clenching the arm chair, curling my toes and trying not to say every curse word in the book. It was worth it though.

haha yeah it definitely is, if you sit in the chair getting tattooed for long enough, your endorphins go into overdrive and it just feels awesome
