                                    left unsaid
And throughout the day
                                    went unheard
The simplest of phrases
                                   forgotten now
But the important parts
                                   lost on us
An attempt to shout left
                                 on empty ears
So I whisper now
                                 to the wind
Hoping against hope it carries
                                   to you
But now I know
                                 hopeful still
You are the deafest
                                 of the lot
My thousand words
                               wasted.
